THE VILLAGE OF
PREAH DAK COMMUNE NEED HELP

When we founded CCAHA in 2008, it soon became clear that in addition to teaching, there were more issues to deal with in order to give the children a better future.

Though you will find stalls for lunch and souvenirs for the tourists along the roads leading to the Angkor Wat temples, you just need to walk few meters beyond this and you will see the poverty for yourself.
The children and the villages need help in many ways.

First, we must realize that for some of the children there is quite a long way to the nearest school even though we have 5 schools around the area of Preah Dak Commune.
Therefore, whenever we have the funding, we provide the children with bicycles to make them able to get to school.

However, we also need funding for other issues: Helping the poorest families when their houses are in need of repair and basic facilities as clean water and toilets, which are not given things at all.

We also work on activities where together with the children we clean up litter in the villages.

In these activities, the volunteers play an important role.

It is very important for us to stress that all of our activities are done in cooperation with the authorities; this means that community senior people and village chiefs are part of our board, as well as all our teachers. Therefore, we form a team with one goal: to help the poorest children.

However, to be able to make progress in all these matters, we are dependent on people who understand our needs and who can help us funding the costs.
